[Tutorial] Using Air Brush for Gundam Modelling

Now we’re ready to brush! In this tutorial I will share basic knowledge about airbrushing.
First, you need to control air pressure in your compressor, use 15 PSI is enough for me, but everyone use different method and feel free to experiment with it. air pressure will affect your paint and air flow, and may produce different result.
Add your mixed paint and thinner into airbrush cup.
Don’t forget to close the cup to prevent your paint from spilling.
Now before painting one thing you need to know, how to change your brush size by using this needle stopper handle.
Fully opened, needle stopper will make will make your airbrush to produce a large rounded spot, this is good for painting a large area.
If you change the needle stopper like the picture above (full retract) then you will produce a very thin line, use this for detailing or shading.
Next, prepare and hold your part.
First layer of paint.
Second layer.
Third and final layer.
The reason I use three layers of paint because it will produce smoother paint job. If you have desirable color with 1 layer of paint, most likely your paint is too thick and you will have a coarse paint texture that will not look good.
I hope you enjoy my Gundam airbrushing tutorial, and good luck!
