The MSN-001X Gundam Delta Kai (pronounced 'Kai') (aka ? Kai or ??) is a prototype transformable mobile suit developed from the MSN-001 Delta Gundam as a technology demonstrator. It appears in the PlayStation 3 video game Mobile Suit Gundam UC (The Postwar) and UC-MSV. In overall appearance, the Gundam Delta Kai is an enhanced version of the Delta Gundam, which incorporates new technologies that can be used for future mobile suits. It also has a specialized Psycommu system installed called the Nitro System, which grants an ordinary pilot Newtype abilities. The Gundam Delta Kai is also armed with standard vulcan guns, a long mega buster, two beam sabers and a shield. But also equipped with two fin funnels on its back.

  • Vulcan gun: The vulcan gun has been a standard armament of Federation suits since the One Year War. The GAT-X105+AQM/E-YM1 Perfect Strike Gundam is the heavy armed variant of the GAT-X105 Strike. It was featured in the eyecatches of the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed HD Remastered. Later, the Perfect Strike Gundam made its first debut in the episode 36. The unit is primary piloted by Mu La Flaga.
 
The Perfect Strike Gundam is the possible end-point of how the original three Striker Packs of the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam could have been used. The combination allows the Strike to have the agility of the Aile Strike Gundam, the heavy firepower of the Launcher Strike Gundam and the close range power of the Sword Strike Gundam at the same time, making it virtually the perfect weapon without losing performance. As well, having all three Striker Packs connected at the same time allows the Strike Gundam to stay active for much longer than having just one Striker Pack on its back.
There are a few visible changes to the Aile Stiker Pack as it's main wings been moved back slightly to make room for the connection points for the "Schwert Gewehr" Anti-Ship Sword, "Agni" Hyper Impulse Beam Cannon and four extended batteries connected on the Aile Striker Pack's back.

The RGE-G2100C Clanche Custom is a custom variant of the RGE-G2100 Clanche featured in the Kio Arc and Three Generation Arc of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. The unit is piloted by Seric Abis.

The RGE-G2100C Clanche Custom is a sea green-colored variation of the RGE-G2100 Clanche. It is primarily assigned to squad leaders[1]. Just like the Gundam AGE-2, the Clanche Custom is designed as a high speed combat unit, able to turn into a fighter-like form which flies at a greater speed than that of its MS mode. While in flight mode, it is able to use two beam cannons in place of wings. It is equipped with the basic weapons such as the DODS rifle, three beam sabers, two beam vulcans, and a shield.

Weapons & Shield:
  • DODS Cannon - Based on the ones used by the AGE-2DB Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet, the Clanche Custom is equipped with two beam cannons in place of its wings and usable only in flight mode.
  • Beam Saber - The standard close range combat armament for most Federation mobile suits. The beam saber is a sword-like beam weapon that is used for close combat. The beam saber can easily cut through most mobile suits. A beam saber is stored in each of Clanche's wrists, while another beam saber is stored in the shield.
  • Beam Vulcans - The beam vulcans are located in Clanche's head. These head mounted beam weapons have a high-rate of fire but have little power and are generally ineffective against advanced Vagan mobile suits. However these weapons are ideal to shoot down fast moving, lightly armored targets such as missiles and vehicles.
  • DODS Rifle - The DODS Rifle is the standard ranged combat weapon for most Federation mobile suits. The Clanche's DODS Rifle is a mass produced version of the AGE-2 Gundam AGE-2 Normal's Hyper DODS Rifle.
  • Shield - The Clanche's basic defensive armament. It is a fairly standard shield usually mounted on the left forearm. It can defend against both beam and physical attacks.

HG 1/144 GN Arms Type E + Gundam Exia

The GN Arms is a limited-produced series and the successors to the GNR-000 GN Sefer series. Only two units were created and both of them were modified to reflect the combat themes of their respective assigned Gundams; GN Arms Type-E is fitted to complement GN-001 Gundam Exia. Although fitted after Gundam Exia, GN Arms E retains similarities to its counterpart and its components are one part of an overall tactical support system.

For weapons, the GN Arms was designed to utilize different weaponry between its fighter and mobile armor (MA) form. Although armed with a specialized silhouette, it has limitations depending on its form. The units are armed with two sets of weaponry: standard and customized.

The standard weaponry is featured in both units; both are armed with a pair of Large-Size GN Cannons and GN Claws. The cannons are hidden at the top-rear hatch, right on top of the thrusters. The top hatch provides protective shielding for the cannons as it is the most powerful (comparable to Gundam Virtue’s GN Bazooka) and vulnerable (its destruction can destroy the entire craft) in combat. The GN Claws is a three-pronged weapon inherited from the Gundam Avalanche Exia Dash armor system. It is a melee-type weapon, meant for close range bird-of-prey style attacks. However, the original GN Claws was built with beam sabers for extended reach and had greater attack capabilities against its enemy target(s); CB engineers (for some unknown reasons) removed that ability, limiting these particular GN Claws for mainly latching and tearing against its target(s). The claws are located at the underbelly of the GN Arms; they’re folded within the lower platform until deployed. However, while its standard weaponry makes it formidable, it is its specialized weaponry that gives the GN Arms its unique combative qualities.

GN Arms E's customized equipment are its pair of Large-Size GN Swords and the GN Guns. The swords are larger versions of Exia’s swords; they’re GN particle-laced vibro-swords designed to cut through large targets (ex: mobile armors, spaceships, asteroids, etc). However, they’re specifically designed to puncture through GN Fields in case their enemy(s) managed to acquire GN technology. Designed after Exia's primary weapon, the GN Guns are built behind the sword. Although called guns, their firepower is comparable to Dynames' GN Rifle. The overall weapons silhouette gives the pair of gun-swords a focus in close-quarters combat (CQC), but balanced for mid-to-short range firing solutions.

In terms of systems, the GN Arms is powered by GN particles. The units are built with GN Condensers to store a limited supply of particles; its pilot must be mindful of its particle reserves or risk a power-down in a compromising tactical position. However, the units are designed with a docking system that connects their respective Gundams’ GN Drive to help recharge their particles for extended operation usage. Celestial Being engineers also installed a GN Field for added protection against enemy attacks. While not built into the GN Arms, either units can utilize the Trans-Am System through their Gundams during emergency situations to temporarily enhance three times their normal combat capabilities. However, its overall systems risk reduction in performance after all its particles are expended.

For combat, its native form is a fighter: GN Arms Mode. Able to fly in outer-space and Earth’s atmosphere, it can only utilize the GN Guns and Large-Size GN Cannons for high-speed heavy assault combat; it relies on its speed to flank and shoot down its target(s), similar to traditional aerial dog fighting. Unfortunately, its remaining weapons and abilities are offline in this form and its weapons are locked in place, lacking flexibility and dynamic firing solutions. As fixed weapons, they are limited to shooting down its target relative to the body positioning of the unit itself. While the units can deploy a GN Field, it was never used in this form; it suggests GN Arms either can't deploy its GN Field or has limited usage in its fighter form. Another weakness are the units' limitations in traveling between Earth and space; to compensate for those weaknesses, the Assault Container can be deployed to for enhanced tactical operations.

Celestial Being engineers realized the GN Arms have limitations exiting Earth’s atmosphere and its overall mass is too great to fit into a linear train for a ride back into space. While not designed for the sole purpose of being an atmospheric shuttle, the Assault Container (AC) is a heavily armed tactical mini-MS carrier that can safely house Exia and GN Arms through some of the most treacherous conditions; the GN Arms bears little involvement in operations when docked.

When combined with the AC, the GN Arms’ overall systems are not utilized other than its thrusters (providing additional thrust power to account for its added weight into the AC). Its overall body is safely shielded within the confines of the AC along with its respective Gundam (although they’re not docked together in any special configuration). Combined with the Gundam and powered by its GN Drive, the pilot of the GN Arms is transferred through a special lift and ported over the AC's helm for manning its flight controls and weapons; the AC is in complete control and the GN Arms is just along for the ride. However, should the container become compromised, the pilot can immediately transfer back into the GN Arms and eject Exia to escape and can recombine as a MA for advanced combat.

When transforming into GN Armor, the pilot expands the unit into a large exo-suit combat system. The GN Arms opens in such a way that Exia simply "falls" its back onto the GN Armor, lock in place, and utilize its systems in a matter of seconds. The cockpit folds up and rotates to the rear of its frame. The mid-section expands and exposes a special docking module that docks directly with Exia's GN Drive Cone. The lower modules fold out to reveal its GN Claws and foot platform to dock with Exia's legs. Its fixed weapons are now unlocked and widened for Exia's arms to dock and utilizing it as an extension of its arms.

In GN Armor combat, the armor is co-piloted by Lasse and Setsuna; the full aspects over its controls are not fully defined and its capabilities is based on observation. In battle, Setsuna has full control over Exia while Lasse seems to handle mainly propulsion and the MA's cannons during combat. Setsuna's influence over the MA seems to be limited to its control over the armor's GN Guns, Large-Size GN Swords, and the GN Claws; he relies on Lasse for evasive maneuvers, firing the cannons, and deploying its GN Field against enemy fire. Should the the GN Arms becomes critically damaged, Exia can simply pull itself out of the MA and resort to MS combat.

Overall, the GN Arms units had proven their value in combat, however, it would be the last of its kind. While Celestial Being engineers continued to produce new support units in its GNR series, Celestial Being ceased creating of any kind of mobile armor. Instead, Celestial Being engineers focused on developing equipment to enhance the combat capabilities of their Gundams; it eliminates the need for mobile armors since their individual capabilities can surpass them. However, the combat and technical data of the GN Arms was used to help CBS-74 Ptolemaios 2, a multi-purpose warship that supplements and succeeds the GN Arms as the Gundams' most powerful combat support unit.

[024] HGUC 1/144 RMS-141 Xekueins Gundam

  • The RMS-141 Xeku Eins (Type 3 Armament) is a heavy attack version of the Xeku Eins. Originally intended for attacking and defending space fortresses, this type is armed mainly with projectile weapons. Its main weapon is a large 120mm machine gun with a rate of fire of 360-540 rounds per minute, and it carries roughly 6,000 rounds of ammunition in each of the huge drum magazines attached to its shoulders. The mobile suit is also equipped with a pair of shields that connect to the movable frame mounts in its shoulders, and these shields in turn provide beam saber racks and latches for optional equipment such as clay bazookas, bazooka magazines, and smoke dischargers. This is effectively the standard configuration of the Xeku Eins. The pilots of the instructor corps use this version to wipe out the regular Federation Forces mobile suits stationed at Pezun, and after declaring themselves the New Desides, they continue using it throughout the Pezun Rebellion of UC 0088.

  • The MS-14Jg Gelgoog Jäger (????J???????) is a variant of the standard MS-14A Gelgoog. It appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket series.
  • An upgraded model of the Gelgoog under United Maintenance Plan, one of Zeon's attempts to simplify both construction and operation of their Mobile Suits. The MS-14Jg Gelgoog Jäger, or simply Gelgoog J, featured more powerful thrusters and additional verniers. To offset the increased propellant use, it also carried a pair of large external propellant tanks on the backpack. It was primarily armed with a large beam machine gun that boasted high accuracy (in fact, the Jäger was nicknamed the Gelgoog Sniper). Like other later model Zeon Mobile Suits, it was also capable of carrying other Zeon weaponry such as the powerful bazooka or MMP-80 machine-gun. With its high performance and powerful weaponry, it was more than a match for the Earth Federations GMs and other mass-production units.

By adding several new armor, weapons, and engine modules the engineers of Taskforce Alpha's Pegasus III were able to upgrade the basic MSA-0011 S Gundam into the super powerful Ex-S Gundam. The Ex-S Gundam has almost double the power of the original S Gundam, making it a fearsome unit indeed. The Ex-S Gundam still had three cockpits, but Ryu Roots was the only person who piloted the mobile suit, and due to Ryu's poor piloting skills it was up to ALICE, the Ex-S Gundam's highly advanced artificial intelligence combat computer, to do most of the fighting against more skilled opponents.
With ALICE functioning as the co-pilot of the Ex-S Gundam "she" was constantly getting more advanced. ALICE was constantly growing in comprehension and depth, and was swiftly evolving into something more akin to a fully rationalizing and thinking creature than a simple machine. ALICE could still take full control of the Ex-S Gundam, or any of its various components or weapons, at any time, and would begin to do so constantly at times when "she" felt the Ex-S or Ryu were threatened. ALICE proved to be a useful co-pilot of the Ex-S Gundam, and "she" was more than capable of compensating for Ryu's lack of skill.

For defensive purposes the Ex-S Gundam featured additional armor on the front of the chest which afforded extra protection for the first two cockpits. This extra chest armor also featured an I-Field generator which created an invisible barrier of Minovsky Particles around the Ex-S Gundam's cockpit block which could nullify ranged beam attacks made against the mobile suit. Additional armor added onto the front of the torso also protected the third cockpit, while extra armor on both sides of the legs featured more after burners, additional propellant tanks, and thrusters.

Two new large thruster units were mounted on the Ex-S Gundam's back, giving the unit incredible thrust power and speed. Two large caliber beam cannons were mounted on both of the thruster units, giving the Ex-S Gundam two more back beam cannons than the S Gundam. The Ex-S Gundam's beam smart rifle was now attached to the front torso of the mobile suit instead of the hips, making room for the two large hip beam cannons that were optional on the S Gundam to be attached to the sides of the Ex-S Gundam's waist permanently. The Ex-S Gundam's head featured four 60mm vulcan guns, while four additional 60mm vulcans were mounted on the tail stabilizer attached to the back.

The Ex-S Gundam also had remote weaponry in the form of an incom, which was a small wire-guided red disc stored in the Ex-S Gundam's forehead that could fire beams when deployed. But the Ex-S Gundam also featured two reflector INCOMs, stored in brackets in the large knee armor, which could be deployed and guided by wire like a standard INCOM. Reflector INCOMs could not fire their own beams but instead were able to reflect incoming beam fire from the Ex-S Gundam or another unit, and redirect it in another direction. Lastly, for use in melee combat situations, the Ex-S Gundam featured two beam sabers, also stored in the knee armor.

Like its predecessor, the Ex-S Gundam was also capable of undergoing a transformation into a waverider mode of sorts, but unlike the S Gundam, which divided into three separate components, the Ex-S Gundam re-combined into one large unit called the G-Cruiser. For its size, the G-Cruiser was incredibly fast and the Ex-S Gundam would travel in this mode whenever it needed to travel over a great distance in a short amount of time. To conserve the fuel of the Ex-S Gundam for use in actual combat situations the G-Cruiser had two large propellant tanks mounted in the front over the Ex-S Gundam's shoulders. These extra fuel tanks would be jettisoned when the G-Cruiser would reach the battlefield and transform into the Ex-S Gundam.

High Grade (HG) are the most commonly built kits on this list. They are easy to build, their price point is affordable, and there is a wide variety of HG kits to choose from. These kits can easily be spotted by the HG moniker found on the corner of the front box art. These kits have more articulation than SD units, which gives it more options for poses. They are 1/144 scale make them the perfect size for collecting and displaying.

In our previous blog, we mentioned that HG kits is our recommended grade for beginners. This is because they offer a great experience without having to break the bank. As you progress and become a better builder, HG kits become fantastic test subject to practice weathering and painting techniques.
